Eveything You Wanted To Know About Beer ... and MoreThis large-size [8.75" x 11.5"], fully indexed, 255-page volume gives you details galore on the best-known, and some of the lesser-known, brands of beer throughout the world. From Argentina to Zaire and practically every place in between.

Profusely illustrated, there are full colour pictures of steins, bottles, labels, full-paged classic ad reproductions, noted beer personalities, pubs, manufacturing plants, and delivery vehicles - both horse-drawn and motorized.
A must for any beer lover.

The World Guide to Whisky: Scotch, Irish, Canadian Bourbon, Tennessee Sour Mash and the Whiskies of Japan Plus a Comprehensive Taste-Guide to Single
Published in Hardcover by Running Press (March, 1993)
Average review score:

Informative, entertaining, excellent. If you were looking for a book on whiskey, you could stop looking after you pick this up. While the author is an Englishman, he appreciates fine spirits from around the world and writes about them gracefully. Bourbons get their due as well as Lowland Scotch whiskies and Japanese brands rarely seen outside their native land. The text is accompanied by many colr photographs; this could almost be a tourist guide. My recommendation : buy this book (don't borrow it, you'll never return it), take it to a good liquor store, buy a whiskey that Mr Jackson likes, and drink it while rereading your favorite chapter.

A Great CookbookThe World in Your Kitchen is a window on basic recipes and foodways usually not included in higher brow cookbooks. Both metric and non metric measures are used in this combination geographic tour and culinary exploration.

Written in Light: Abdu'l-Baha and the American Baha'i Community, 1898-1921
Published in Hardcover by Kalimat Press (July, 1998)
Average review score:

A rare treat...a perfect gift. This is definitely a book one would proudly display at home -- a definite conversation starter. Full of touching photos of the Master's visit to the USA, matched by first-hand accounts of that time. I was particularly moved by the story relating a gathering that was almost rained out, and how Abdul-Baha "saved the day." This book would be joyously received as a gift for Ayyam-i-Ha or Naw Ruz. Enjoy!

Wyatt Waters, Another Coat of Paint: An Artist's View of Jackson, Mississippi

The colors of Mississippi's capital come alive!Wyatt Water's collection of watercolors are vibrant representations of nostalgic city scapes in Jackson. His rainbow pallete is painted on location, giving each work a caught-in-time feel. A breif history of the subject is given for each picture. This book is a pleasure to open over and over again.

A Year at Monticello, 1795
Published in Hardcover by Fulcrum Pub (October, 1989)
Average review score:

A Neat Book - A Great GiftThis is a really neat little book. So much has been written about Thomas Jefferson's life and the building of Monticello that it is hard to find books that offer anything really different. This book is a treasured part of my library for several reasons. The biggest reason is that it offers something unique: a look at the ordinary life of Jefferson. This isn't about the statesman, the president, the revolutionary. It's about the things he loved most: farming and working on his beloved home. The hardcover edition I have is beautiful in appearance, and this little book serves as a nice endtable conversation piece. It's a great gift for history lovers (I received it as a wedding present, believe it or not). In short, I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Yo, Little Brother: Basic Rules of Survival for Young African American Males
Published in Paperback by African American Images (August, 1998)
Average review score:

A great read if you want to help your adolescent son grow.I purchased the book for my adolescent son to read. My hope was that he might find some helpful hints on how to deal with his everyday life situations. What I found was an opportunity to communicate with him in a way that had here-to-fore been impossible. We began to really talk to each other about life and death, about different situations he would face in the world, in this country, in the neighborhood and in the home. We talked about how his responses to them would determine the kind of man he would become, the kind of life he would live. The book poses many real life situations that young Black men are faced with. It shows them the right answer to them, the right way to go. The authors must have drawn from many of their own experiences - the examples are on the money! I would strongly urge any parent, White or Black, who has an adolescent male in the house to buy this book and read it together.

Young Swimmer
Published in Hardcover by DK Publishing (April, 1997)
Average review score:

Excellent starter book, especially for competitive swimming. This book shows step-by-step pictures of everything from the most common swimming strokes to how to put on swim goggles. It is a good book for developing a strong foundation for competitive swimming skills, and it is easy to understand, even by non-readers.
Well footnoted, this volume met the demand of the academically serious-minded readers. This book consists of seventeen chapter, and the important chapters for mission studies include: ¡°The Cultural Captivity of Western Christianity as a Challenge to a Missionary Church,¡± ¡°Reflections on the History of Missions,¡± amd ¡°Mission in a Pluralist Society.¡±
